Batch a week of social posts with Claude

Turn one long-form piece into a week of posts across platforms, with captions and hashtags, in one session.

Last checked 22 October 2026

What you'll make

A week's worth of social media posts (5–7) derived from a single piece of long-form content — a blog post, a video transcript, a podcast episode or a guide. Each post adapted for a specific platform, with captions and hashtags ready to paste.

What you need

  • A Claude account
  • One piece of long-form content (at least 500 words or 10 minutes of video/audio)
  • Knowing which platforms you post to (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok)
  • 25 minutes

Steps

  1. Paste your long-form content into Claude and ask it to extract post-worthy angles:
Here is a [piece of content type] about [topic]:
[paste the full content]

Identify 7 distinct angles from this content that could each become a standalone social media post. For each angle, tell me:
1. The main point (one sentence)
2. Which platform it works best on (Instagram, LinkedIn, X or TikTok)
3. Why that angle works on that platform specifically
  1. Ask Claude to write the posts for the angles it identified:
Now write a social media post for each of the 7 angles. Adapt the format to the platform:

- Instagram: caption-first, 3–5 short paragraphs, end with a question. Include 10–15 hashtags.
- LinkedIn: professional tone, 4–6 paragraphs, lead with the insight, end with a question. 3–5 hashtags.
- X: under 280 characters, one idea, no hashtags or max 2.
- TikTok: script format (what's on screen | what's said), 15–30 seconds, hook in first 3 seconds.

For each post, give me:
1. The platform
2. The full caption or script
3. Suggested hashtags (where relevant)
4. What visual to pair it with (photo, screenshot, video clip, carousel)
  1. Review and edit. Claude won't know your brand voice perfectly on the first try. Pick the posts that sound closest to how you actually talk and refine them. Discard any that feel forced.

  2. Ask Claude for a posting schedule:

Arrange these 7 posts into a weekly schedule. Consider:
- Which day and time works best for each platform
- Not posting the same angle on two platforms on the same day
- Spacing out similar topics

Give me a simple table: Day | Platform | Post topic | Visual needed.
  1. Save the schedule and the posts in one document. Prepare any visuals you need (screenshots, images, short video clips) so everything is ready to schedule.

Check your result

  • You have 5–7 posts, each adapted to its platform's format and length conventions
  • No post is a direct copy of another — each angle is genuinely different
  • You have a visual plan for each post (not "find a stock photo later")
  • The schedule spreads posts across the week with no same-day duplicates across platforms

If the posts all sound like the same idea reworded, the problem is the source content — it may only have one real point. In that case, use it for one strong post and find richer source material for the rest of the week. One good post beats seven repetitive ones.
