Write video ad scripts with Claude

Use Claude to write Facebook and TikTok ad scripts with hook-first structure, multiple variants and platform-safe messaging.

Last checked 22 October 2026

What you'll make

Three variants of a short video ad script for a product, each with a different hook angle, written to follow Facebook and TikTok ad policies. You'll have scripts ready to film and test against each other.

What you need

  • A Claude account
  • A product you're already selling (or about to test) with a clear benefit
  • Knowing who the target buyer is
  • 25 minutes

Steps

  1. Tell Claude about the product and ask for three hook-first scripts:
I'm selling [product name] on Shopify. It's a [brief description]. The main benefit is [benefit]. My target buyer is [who they are]. Write 3 short video ad scripts (15–30 seconds each) for Facebook and TikTok ads. Each script should:

1. Start with a hook in the first 3 seconds (a question, a bold claim, or a relatable problem)
2. Show the product solving the problem
3. End with a clear call-to-action

Give each script a different hook angle:
- Script A: problem-first (starts with the pain point)
- Script B: curiosity-first (starts with an unexpected question or visual)
- Script C: social-proof-first (starts with a result or testimonial-style opening)

Format each as a two-column table: Visual (what's on screen) | Voiceover or text (what's said or shown as text).
  1. Review the scripts for policy safety. Ask Claude:
Review all 3 scripts for Facebook and TikTok ad policy risks. Flag anything that could trigger a rejection: before-and-after claims, health or weight loss language, exaggerated promises, restricted product categories, or misleading claims. Suggest a fix for each flag.
  1. If a script feels too long or wordy, ask for a tighter version:
Rewrite Script [letter] to be under 20 seconds. Cut anything that isn't the hook, the product demo, or the CTA. Keep it punchy.
  1. Film the scripts. You don't need professional equipment — a phone and good lighting is enough for TikTok-style ads. Use the table format as your shot list.

Check your result

  • Each script has a hook in the first 3 seconds (not a slow intro or logo animation)
  • Each script is under 30 seconds when read aloud at a normal pace
  • No policy red flags remain (Claude flagged them and you fixed them)
  • The three scripts have genuinely different opening angles, not the same script reworded

If all three hooks sound similar, give Claude more specific pain points or customer reactions to work with: "Buyers tell us the worst part is [specific problem]" or "The most common review says [specific phrase]."
